blogcercise update

typing this while waiting for the ipod to get enough charge to podcast me through the next phase (bet you didn't know podcast was a verb). Pleased to say that running was not held up by a work trip to Louvain-la-Neuve, but catching a virus has held thing for a week. About to start week 4.

blogcercise 5

more running - did laps around the house today - each one about 1/8 mile, so did loads.

not hurting too much.

tech not changed yet. garmin is brill.

poker

blogcercise 3 return of the running shoes

today - running better some of the 60second runs felt like runs more than torture.

technology - rubbish. GPS fell of charging cradle and battery conked after 10 minutes. so no stats.

should have run yesterday according to timetable, but had to spend that evening winning a poker tournament instead.

blogcercise 2 - the pavement strikes back

one more day down - only blogging for accountability - doesn't hurt as much as saturday.

tech: same as before, although son came cycling along too and filled me in on Toy Story 3.

blogcercise

so I'm an overweight unfit 42 (still!) year old - time to get fit - everyone else is doing it and a fitness programme is improper without a blog. In order to provide an orthogonal commentary I will concentrate on the tech and stats rather than the exercise (everything hurts - that's all you need to know).

podcast - http://www.ullreys.com/robert/Podcasts/ *
poddevice - ipod touch 1G - no point mugging me.
headphones - sony somethings
gps - garmin forerunner 305 - maps and lots of stats to come

heart - 72 resting, 90 standing, 130 walking up to 170 when running -

The blog commits me to the 8 week programme, by which time 3 miles should be easy. - what's afterwards 5k-10k?

Iain

* worried this might contain subliminal messages - the music's ok - but not what I normally listen to. **

feeling welcome

Today I applied for an eVistor visa from the another country's immigration people. As usual it finished with a captcha. However, this time I'm not sure they want me.

why a blog

Apparently most blogs have one really good post and then nothing else. So let's start with two really bad ones ... just to make a change, you understand.
