Most readers here will be aware of the Raspberry Pi (http://www.raspberrypi.org/) - a wonderful thing and, when it arrives, a fantastic contribution to my household. We hope to get lots ...
My plan is to use an old DVI monitor and speakers I have kicking around before the home TV gets taken away from me, and buy the other hardware. I hope power from a USB hub, which will also be plugged into the Pi for extra fun later, unless i invent perpetual motion machines, the hub will be mains powered. I have a spare 700mA supply from an old phone if desperate ...
Costs so far: £29 for the Pi. Keyboard, mouse, hdmi, hdmi-dvi adaptor, powered usb hub (that can supply 2000mA/port), microusb cable, 4gig SD card total about £30.
The possibilities are endless - cheap NAS is the first that comes to mind - hidden away in the loft.
any thoughts welcome.
